Out and about in the comarca Alto Palancia
The camp site is situated in the comarca Alto Plancia. This region is the south-western part of the province of Castellon and forms a natural boundery with the adjacent Aragon region. The camp site is situated directly at the ‘route of the springs’. This route is famous for its many springs and brooklets which can be found in the valley between the river Palancia and the river Mijares.
Within easy travelling distance you can visit old charateristic villages like Bejis, Jerica, Navajas, Segorbe, Toro and, of course, Viver and stroll through their streets. Don’t forget to visit Teruel, Mora de Rubielos and Rubielos de Mora (!) and learn about the locals, their habits, their way of life and their history. It will definitely be a satisfying experience!
The campsite is an ideal base to explore the entire district. You can go hiking or stroll around in the neighbourhood of the village. We can inform you about the most interesting hiking paths or the most daring (mountain)biking routes. During those tours you will enjoy all the aspects of the regional flora and fauna.
We strongly recommand a visit to the thermal springs of Fuente de banos and Montanejos. The springs produce 5000 litres water per minute. Above ground the water still has a temperature of 25* Celsius. On several occasions the enormous quantity of water forms natural basins. These basins are used as natural swimming-pools; the water is warm and crystal clear. You’ll love it.
Nearby there is a manege for those who love horse-riding.
A visit to Sagunto is for historylovers a real must. The town has an ancient city-centre, a roman amphitheatre, an old jewish quarter, an archeology museum and lost of other places of interest.
A huge variety of cultural activities can be found in cities like Valencia and Castellon. All year long they offer a wide range of activities for children, adults and families.
